Pangan: One for the environment

TREE planting was done on November 16, 2019, as planned, by officers of the Fiesta Homeowners Association, Inc., led by this writer, initiator VP Dennis dela Cruz and BOD Jess del Rosario.

Mark Canlas, PMO of Hemi (Hausland Estate Management, Inc.) sent his maintenance men led by Allan, to assist in the tree planting. The seedlings were sourced from the Mabalacat City nursery by this writer and who was given several like mahogany and balacat trees which were planted, first, at the HOA office site along Makabayan Street and along the perimeter of Bayanihan hall and at phases 4 and 1.

The initiative by VP Dennis dela Cruz is just one project to beautify the surroundings at Fiesta Subdivision and contribute positively to the upkeep of the environment.

As president of the HOA, I plan to encourage resident/homeowners where the seedlings were planted to keep them alive and well and see them grow fullblown. Also, I will discourage other homeowners not to park their vehicles on the paved basketball courts so as to avoid destroying these newly-planted trees.

All the planted trees should be adequately fenced off so as to dissuade toddlers from wittingly or unwittingly trampling on them or altogether destroy them.

BOD Jess del Rosario proposed to hold an Inter-Phase basketball tournament this December and I immediately agreed. I asked him to draft the mechanics: participating teams and their playing schedules, snacks, uniforms, honoraria for the referees and other incidental costs, including the participation fees and prizes.

Next on our agenda is the installation of the Christmas decors so that the homeowners will be inspired upon seeing them. Also, I plan to stage a beautification project by phases and the winner will be awarded a prize.

The stray dogs’ problem will be tackled in the next HOA board meeting on November 23, 2019, a Saturday. I hope all the BODs will come for the said meeting.

BODs Cesar Pangan and Jess del Rosario suggested again that we make

arrangements with Noah's Ark, a private firm with specialization of

handling these stray dogs at Fiesta Streets.

I strongly urge my fellow officers and board members to come punctually at scheduled meetings so that a quorum will be attained and more matters benefitting the homeowners will be taken up.

I lament that some women BODs are not that cooperative.
