THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office (CHO) has reported Monday, November 25, that dengue cases in the city continue to dwindle.
Dr. Lorraine Nery, officer-in-charge of CHO, said dengue cases in Cagayan de Oro City is consistently going down, particularly in Barangay Carmen which was identified as the top barangay with the highest number of dengue cases.
"Kung tan-awon nato ang trend sa data, grabe kaayoang down line sa mga cases in that specific barangay," Nery said.
"It just shows na maayo pud ang result sa atong campaign regarding our 4S, lalo na sa atong search and destroy operations. And so with other barangays," she added.
Nery said that from two-digit number or more than 10 cases in the past months, most of the barangays now have reported single-digit or less than 10 dengue cases.
She also said that the number of deaths also dropped. From three to four deaths, the CHO has recorded two deaths in November.
"Ang ato gyud unta nga target is zero deaths gyud. We will continue to work on it," Nery said.
She also reminded the public to continue the search and destroy operations and clean-up activities in their respective barangays to further lessen the number of dengue cases and deaths to zero.
