THE Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs and the Dynata Warriors kept in front of the pack in the Evo League as they defeated their respective opponents in the Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball Season 15 at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym on Sunday, November 24, 2019.
The Flying Lemurs scored a 63-44 win over the Results Mactan Newtown Spartans, while the Warriors drubbed the Kyocera Frontiers, 62-49.
With the twin victories, the Flying Lemurs and the Warriors remained tied at the number one spot with identical 13-2 (win-loss) records.
Joey Juntilla finished with 12 points and eight rebounds to lead Contact Solutions, which recovered from last week’s 61-68 huge loss to the Fluor Pandas.
Tommy Ugsimar was remarkable in Dynata’s win as he piled up 22 points, 14 rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block. He was ably backed by Karl Rubica, who posted 10 points, 14 boards, one assist, one block and a steal.
Former University of Southern Philippines Panthers wingman Ellison Rivera, meanwhile, flirted with a triple-double and powered the Author Solutions Philippines Inc. (ASPI) Hardbacks to an 80-74 win over the Iploy Barracudas.
Rivera logged 25 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds and four steals as he carried the Hardbacks to their sixth win in 16 games.
Steven Cabanday, on the other hand, produced 22 points, Marck Tinoy piled up 17, Nolan Dela Peña cashed in 13 and Michael Mante dropped 12 as the Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties tripped the Shearwater Health Crusaders, 91-57. The Tech Mighties, thus, forced a three-way tie at sixth spot with Fluor and Dyninno with similar 10-5 slates.
In other EVO League games, Cognizant (3-12) stifled CTC-BPO (0-15), 76-63, Optum (12-4) survived Amazon (9-6), 76-74. (JNP)
