94 Bacolod cops get promotion

NINETY-FOUR personnel of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) were promoted to the next higher rank as part of the 2019 Regular Promotion Program of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The oath-taking and pinning of ranks was held at the BCPO headquarters on Monday, November 25, led by BCPO Director Colonel Henry Binas.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said of the 94 policemen, three BCPO officials were promoted from Police Major to Police Lieutenant Colonel. They are Lieutenant Colonels Lester Leada, Gregorio Cueva, and Ariel Artillero who attended their oath-taking and pinning of ranks at the Police Regional Office-Western Visayas.

Pico said Police Chief Master Sergeant (PCMS) Rolito Flores was promoted to Captain, while Police Executive Master Sergeant (PEMS) Santiago Cabangal was promoted to Lieutenant.

He said 20 PCMSs were promoted to PEMS while four Police Senior Master Sergeants (PSMS) were promoted to PCMS.

Eight Police Master Sergeants (PMSg) were promoted to PSMS, 13 Police Staff Sergeants promoted to PSSg, 35 Police Corporals (PCpl) promoted to PSSg, and nine Patrolman/Patrolwoman promoted to PCpl.

Binas, in his message, said higher position requires bigger responsibility.

"We expect our policemen to perform well to maintain the peace and order in the city," he said.

A total of 20,210 Police Commissioned Officers (PCO) and Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCO) were promoted to the next higher rank.

Police Lieutenant General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa, PNP officer-in-charge, approved the recommendation of PNP Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM) for the promotion of 870 PCO and 19,340 PNCO who passed the rigid requirements for the 2nd Cycle CY 2019 Regular Promotion Program and were found qualified for promotion effective October 2019.

Gamboa personally administered the oath-taking and pinning of ranks of newly promoted PNP personnel based in Camp Crame composed of 156 PCOs and 998 PNCOs assigned in different offices of National Support Units, Command Group and Directorial Staff.

The PNP official, in his message, said each unit and office has its own PCO and PNCO Promotion Board that process the applications of candidates qualified for Permanent Appointment to the next higher rank.

He also urged all police personnel to continue developing a culture of responsible seniority in the PNP so that the next generation of police officers will serve with utmost professionalism and integrity.
