PRO-Cordillera promotes 1,149 officers, personnel

A TOTAL of 1,149 police officers and personnel have been promoted to the next rank. They took their oath as new police personnel in the promotion and donning of ranks activity at Camp Bado Dangwa in La Trinidad, Benguet on Monday, November 25, 2019.

Police Brigadier General Israel Ephraim Dickson, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Cordillera director, reminded the newly promoted police personnel who have passed that rigorous screening and evaluation of the Philippine National Police's promotions board.

"No other event or ceremony holds the most meaning in the career than this. Our organization success is dependent on the quality of leadership that is developed the forward in the proper place and time. It is the event that the prick of a pin signals the assumption of greater authority, responsibility and accountability," Dickson said.

Dickson also reiterated their service is important in bringing the major impact to people's lives, which comes with great responsibility to make sure they get it right every time a police renders service, respond to calls for assistance, investigate, and perform their given tasks.

"I would like to remind you of the guidelines of our OIC-Chief PNP Police Lieutenant General Archie Gamboa which are as follows, no engagement or presence in places or houses of ill repute, no receive of money of material things from sources of illegal drugs, gambling, bribes, grease money or 'kotong' from illegal sources, the no use of evidence vehicles or the use of vehicles with no plates or conduction stickers, while all police personnel must not tolerate lawlessness and must be tough against criminals without fear of favor," Dickson added.

Of the 1,149, 745 were promoted to the next rank, while 354 personnel coming from the regional headquarters, Baguio City Police Office, Benguet Provincial Police Office and a Regional Mobile Force Brigade 15, and 50 from the NSU took their oath.
