VICE President Maria Leonor Robredo is back at having a “blind vision” even after President Rodrigo Duterte attempted to save her from the “tunnel of darkness,” Malacañang said Wednesday, November 27.

In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said Duterte gave Robredo a “lamp” to “illuminate her way” but what the Vice President did was “broke” it.

“In the tunnel of darkness where she strayed aimlessly after a 100 percent rejection of her endorsed ‘Otso Diretso,’ she was given a lamp by [Duterte] to illuminate her way,” Panelo said.

“But she carelessly broke it and she is back to where she was, groping with a blind vision,” he added.

Panelo’s remarks came after Robredo told the beneficiaries of Angat Buhay program that “true” leaders perform well despite having “uninspiring bosses.”

Robredo’s statement came just three days after Duterte fired her as drug czar for her supposed move to “politicize” the government’s anti-narcotics campaign.

Panelo said Robredo deserves to “fall from grace,” given her strong opposition to Duterte’s policies.

“Her tirades and threats following her unceremonious but deserved firing is unsurprising,” he said.

“There is no greater fury than a woman scorned. There is a Spanish word that aptly describes her fall from grace: Merece,” he added.

While Robredo did not stop from criticizing Duterte, the Chief Executive is still doing his job “exceedingly well,” Panelo said.

“Despite her non-performance and obstructionist perorations against the President, the latter has performed exceedingly well, and the Filipino people have stamped with a very good satisfaction rating his incomparable performance in the last three years,” he said.

“In contrast, the rambunctious critic has consistently rated very low. In the surveys. Res ipsa loquitor (The thing speaks for itself ),” Panelo added. (NASE/SunStar Philippines)
