HUNDREDS of tertiary students from Masantol town recently received scholarship grants under the Commission on Higher Education's (Ched) "Tulong Dunong" program.

A total of P2.7 million worth of grants was coursed through Fourth District Representative Juan Pablo Bondoc, who personally distributed them to 360 students.

Each beneficiary received P7,500 to assist them on their educational needs for the second semester of classes, Bondoc said.

Bondoc, in his speech, told the recipients of the value of education and its importance in ensuring a better quality of life for them and their families.

"It's true that education does not guarantee success but it is helpful, if not a big factor, in securing a better job which may lead to one's success," he said.

Bondoc also reminded beneficiaries to pay forward the assistance they got from the government once successful, may it be to their siblings, relatives or needy members of the community.

Vice Mayor Epifanio Lacap, meanwhile, expressed gratitude to Bondoc and Ched for their continuous assistance to Masantoleño youth and the education sector in the town.

"The local government puts priority on the education of youth to ensure that will be equipped with the knowledge and skills they need for employment and this assistance from Congressman Bondoc and the national government greatly boosts that program," he said.
