TASK Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) Head Secretary Eduardo del Rosario on Thursday, November 28, said they are now ready to start building public infrastructures in the most affected area of the war-torn Marawi City as part of the rehabilitation efforts.
Del Rosario said they will begin the construction of vertical public infrastructures project next month, following the completion of the debris management.
"For us, the heart and soul of the rehabilitation is, as far as infrastructure is concerned, focus in the most affected area. That is why we are continuously monitoring the progress of our rehabilitation in the most affected area," Del Rosario said.
The TFBM chair said that under the debris management, the clearing of unexploded explosives is 95 percent complete and surface bombs or improvised explosive devices is 99 percent complete.
They also cleared hundreds of buildings that have to be demolished, including the concrete, steel and other debris materials.
"So with this, we are now ready to move forward to the next step and that is the building of public infrastructures like the construction of 24 barangay halls with health center and madrasa," Del Rosario said.
Last Wednesday, November 27, the TFBM conducted groundbreaking ceremonies in three barangay halls in Marawi.
"We are on track and we will complete the rehabilitation of the most affected area and the entire city not later than December of 2022," Del Rosario said.
