GLA, PMI make finals

THE GreAtMinds Leadership Academy and PMI Colleges Bohol moved on to the finals of the juniors and seniors divisions, respectively, after vanquishing their opponents in the semifinals of the Bohol Schools Athletic Association (BSAA) basketball tournament at the University of Bohol gym on Thursday night, Nov. 28, 2019.

GLA blew out the Bohol Wisdom School, 117-81, in their do-or-die match to advance to the championship round. John Ponla was unstoppable for GLA as he compiled a whopping 40 points to go with six rebounds and two steals.

Also helping out for GLA were John Loquellano who tallied 17 points and Kobe Naron who put up 14 markers.

GLA was already holding a 10-point lead, 47-37, at halftime when it suddenly hit its stride in the third canto, outscoring BWS, 33-16, to bring its lead to 80-43, with just 10 minutes left to play.

GLA will face the winner of the semifinal clash between the BIT-International College and the University of Bohol.

Meanwhile, in the seniors division, PMI College edged the Trinidad Municipal College in overtime, 102-98. Arvin Bitad led PMI in scoring with 26 points while Mark Berdera fired in 18 markers to go with four rebounds, four assists and two steals.

The win pushed PMI into a finals showdown with the BIT IC.
