2 known drug pushers nabbed in Zamboanga

POLICE have arrested two known drug personalities in a law enforcement operation in Zamboanga City and in nearby Zamboanga Sibugay province, an official said Friday, November 29.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Fritz Gerald Birowa, 30, who has been on the police's drug watchlist; and Jovial Talisic, 42, a Top 9 Municipal Level drug personality.

Seized from Birowa were some P15,000 worth of substance believed to be shabu and P200 marked money. He was nabbed around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, November 28, in a food court in the village of Sta. Maria.

Talisic, on the other hand, was arrested around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, November 28, in Purok Aguinaldo in the village of Poblacion, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Confiscated from his possession were six heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu and illegal drug paraphernalia.

Galvez said the two suspects were detained pending the filing of formal charges against them for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (SunStar Zamboanga)
