Candaba’s famed products showcased in first fiesta boodle fight

LOCAL government officials and employees on Thursday, November 28, feasted on Candaba town’s famous products during the luncheon boodle fight held at the Municipal Trade Center.

Mayor Rene Maglanque led the culinary activity which featured fried tilapia, duck, pindang babi (sweetened pork meat), longganisang Candaba (processed pork sausage), and watermelon and cantaloupe.

“These dishes were all cooked fresh from our farmlands and fishpens, including the rice we serve. We take pride in being an agricultural town that is why we want to showcase our products to our fellow Kapampangans and Filipino,” he said.

Maglanque said the activity will be an annual activity in town and will be integrated in the tourism programs of the local government.

“We were only joined by local officials and municipal hall employees this year but we are hopeful that Candabeños and even tourists can join us in the next years that we’ll be doing this,” he said.

Being a tourism activity, Maglanque said it will also serve as the biggest promotional stunt for the products of local farmers and fishermen.

“Through this activity, we are optimistic that we can help improve the sales of our local farmers and also increase the economic activity of our town with the tourist visits,” he said.

The first luncheon boodle fight marked the Municipal Day and is held in line with the town fiesta in honor of its patron St. Andrew.
