THE Angeles City Government employees, led by Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, Jr., gave their all-out support to the Men’s Water Polo Filipino athletes who splashed out the Thailand players in a 7-4 win on Thursday night, November 28, at New Clark City, Athletic Stadium in Capas, Tarlac.

According to Lazatin, this is a time when the government must show unity to raise the Philippine flag, especially that the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games 2019 will formally open Saturday, November 30, and will run until December 11, 2019.

“Angeles City will give its 110 percent support to our Filipino athletes participating at the SEA Games,” he said.

It can be recalled that the mayor already suspended classes in public and private schools in all levels on December 2 to 6, to give way for the students to watch SEA Games 2019, and support fellow Filipino athletes.

After the victory of the Philippines against Thailand in a three-point lead since the third quarter, the Filipino men’s water polo team has no loss and are still running for gold. Likewise, Indonesia has maintained a winning streak versus Singapore but had a 6-6 draw with the Philippines in their game recently.

Hundreds of Filipinos cheered for them as they were the first to make a goal against Thailand. The team will be competing against Singapore on November 29 and Malaysia on December 1. (PR)
