ALL eyes were on the 55,000-seat Philippine Arena in Bulacan as President Rodrigo Duterte formally opened the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games there.

Spectators, including representatives from 11 nations in Southeast Asia like Brunei’s Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, were treated to a spectacle as the opening salvo for the biennial games featured local and international talents.

The opening salvo concluded with the ceremonial lighting of the SEA Games cauldron at the New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac by Filipino boxing champ and senator Manny Pacquiao and Filipino women's boxing champ Nesthy Petecio. (JKV)
