THE Dyninno Jets soared past the Kyocera Frontiers, 73-72, in the Evo League division of the Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu basketball court last Saturday, December 1, 2019.

It was a tightly fought ballgame all throughout but in the end, it was the Jets that pulled through for their sixth win in a row to bolster their win-loss record to 11-5. Kyocera, last year’s runners-up, lost for the second straight game and dropped to 11-4.

Oscar Villamor led the Jets with an incredible double-double of 18 points and 19 rebounds to go with three blocks and two assists. Rainier Obenza added 15 points, four rebounds, six assists and two steals while Raymond Basanez added 10.

Ariel Edera tried to single-handedly carry the fight for Kyocera with his 31 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, four steals and two blocks but it was not enough to give the Frontiers the victory.

Meanwhile, in the Elite Classic division, the Sykes Pioneers nabbed its third win in a row with an 82-53 thrashing of the QBE Generals. Mark Olmilla helped the Pioneers hold the fort down in the absence of star forward Janjan Auditor who is recovering from a hamstring injury, as he compiled 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

John Capuyan added 13 while former Cesafi Mythical Five member Victor Rabat had 12 points, four rebounds and six assists to help Sykes improve to 13-3.
