SEVERAL towns in Eastern Visayas on Sunday, December 1, declared suspension of classes on Monday, December 2, ahead of Typhoon Tisoy (Kammuri).
The provinces of Leyte, Southern Leyte and Biliran are under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 based on the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) advisory at 5 p.m. Sunday.
The provinces of Samar, Eastern Samar and Northern Samar are under TCWS No. 2.
Pre-school classes are automatically suspended in areas under Signal No. 1 while classes up to high school are suspended in areas under Signal No. 2.
Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez, however, issued an executive order declaring the suspension of work and classes in all levels in the city on Monday.
