Contact Solutions routs Tech Mahindra, secures top seed in E-Leagues

THE Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs downed the Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties, 61-59, to come away as the top seed in the Evo League division of the Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball Season 15 at the City Sports Club-Cebu basketball court on Sunday, December 1, 2019.

Contact Solutions actually ended up tied with the Dynata Warriors for the top spot at 14-2 (win- loss). However, the Lemurs seized the top seed owing to the winner-over-the-other rule.

The Warriors grabbed their 10th win in a row after a 76-72 win over the Executive Boutique/SVC Bulldogs.

Joey Juntilla tallied 18 points and seven rebounds to lead Contact Solutions to the win.

Meanwhile, Tommy Ugsimar added another brilliant performance across his name as he had 24 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks in the Warriors’ victory over the Bulldogs.

Also playing well was Karl Rubica who had 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Also emerging victorious in the final playdate of the single-round eliminations were the Kyocera Frontiers, the Amazon Aces and the Demand Science Paladins.

Kyocera dumped the Results Newtown Spartans, 65- 46, Amazon drubbed the Cognizant Tech Solutions Tikas, while Demand Science defeated the CTC-BPO Panthers, 67-63.

Joining Contact Solutions and Dynata in the top four are the Frontiers and the Optum Knights, who both ended the eliminations with similar 12-4 records.

Also advancing to the quarterfinals outright were the Fluor Pandas (5th seed), Dyninno Jets (6th seed) and Executive Boutique (7th seed).

The top four squads in the quarterfinals will enjoy twice-to-beat edges over their lower-ranked foes.

In the quarters, Contact Solutions will face the winner in the wild card lottery, while the Warriors will take on the Bulldogs.

Kyocera will take on Dyninno, while Optum will face off against Fluor.

In the Elite Classic Division, the quarterfinal pairings are as follows: Accenture (no. 1 seed) versus QBE (8th); Sykes (2nd) against Wipro (7th); Fusion BPO Services (3rd) versus Dreamscape (6th); and Teleperformance (4th) against Concentrix (5th). (SunStar Cebu)
