TUBURAN routed Balamban, 109-89, to come away with the championship in the basketball competition of the 2019 Congressman Pablo John Garcia (PJ) Cup in Pinamungahan last Saturday, November 30, 2019.
Tuburan did not waste any time in asserting itself in the finals as they led, 28-14, after the first canto to set the tone for the one-sided ballgame.
The win allowed Tuburan to bag the P200,000 cash prize while Balamban settled for P150,000.
Barili, which defeated Toledo, 85-70, claimed third place honors and the P100,000 that came with it.
Meanwhile, Tuburan also lorded over the volleyball tournament, after it defeated Balamban in a thrilling five-setter, 25-18, 25-9, 8-25, 27-29, 15-13.
Toledo City won third place after it beat Pinamungahan, 25-17, 22-25, 25-13,25-19. (SunStar Cebu)
