THE organizers of the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games have put all the contingency plans in place if the games get affected by Typhoon Tisoy.
“Few days ago we have already instructed the competition managers to be ready for the contingency plan, this has been in place a long time ago,” said Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) chief operation officer Ramon Suzara in a press conference at the World Trade Center on Monday, Dec. 2, 2019.
He added that the organizing team is ready in case of a typhoon or a delay of games.
“We have also instructed the supplier especially the outdoors venue to put down the tents in advance. The competition continues even we reduce the tents.
Philippine Olympic Committee president Bambol Tolentino assured that the biennial games will not go beyond Dec. 11 despite the typhoon.
Metro Manila and Pampanga, the two major venues for the SEA Games, were placed under Signal No. 2 as of 11 a.m. on Monday. Tisoy, with international name Kammuri, is expected to landfall in Catanduanes, Albay or Sorsogon between Monday night or Tuesday morning. (SunStar Cebu)
