THE mother of television talk show host Boy Abunda, Licerna “Lesing” Romerica Abunda, passed away at the age of 90 last Sunday, Dec. 1.
The Abunda matriarch’s passing was confirmed through a Facebook post by Boy’s sister, Eastern Samar representative Maria Fe Abunda.
According to the post written in Waray, a funeral mass will be held at the Arlington Memorial Chapels in Quezon City.
In an episode of Boy’s show “The Bottomline” in October, he confirmed that his mother, diagnosed with dementia, had already been in the hospital for weeks.
The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Lesing Abunda was a teacher by profession. She was elected councilor in Borongan for three terms from 1995 to 2004, before she won vice mayor in 2004. (RGT)
