DABAWENYO graduates dominated once again the September 2019 Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET), both in elementary and secondary levels, with over 50 topnotchers, results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Sunday, December 1, showed.
Anjo Jurado Literatus, a graduate of Saint Mary's College-Tagum, ranked number one in the LET examination for the elementary level with 92.60 percent rating.
The University of Southeastern Philippines (Usep) Tagum also ranked first in the Performing School for the September 2019 LET (Elementary Level) with a passing rate of 96.07 percent, while for the secondary level, it placed fifth with 88.66 percent.
In the secondary level, Usep topnotchers include Jenelou Cutin Mantong (Top 2) with 92.60 rating; Joshua Ymmanuelle Cabatingan Getigan (Top 3) with 92.20; Philip Dan Mansanades Camado (Top 6) with 91.40; Kobe Arn Orcullo Toledo (Top 6) with 91.40 rating; John Aljuhn Merced Guiao (Top 8) with 91 percent rating; and Elton Mae Lambayong Olaer (Top 8) with 91 percent.
Also, ranking 19th are Rellian Saturinas Colita, Christine Kaye Aviles Otero, and Aries James Landasan Toledo with 90.60 percent rating.
For the elementary level, the Usep topnotchers include Lindclaire Recamadas Villanueva, who earned the third spot with 91.40 percent rating. Marilou Lapiñagan España and Claudette Pammela Boñela Onita ranked fifth with 90.80 percent.
Keilah Faith Fundal Pelingon earned the 9th spot with 90 percent, while Viah Jamero Geverola and Christine Jane Macabinquil Monceda shared the 10th spot with 89.80 percent rating.
The University of Mindanao (UM) graduates also ruled the board exam for teachers with 23 topnotchers.
For the elementary level, Rona Dawn Rafols from UM Tagum snatched the Top 3 with 91.40 percent; Shiera Maravilla from UM Digos, Top 5, with 90.80 percent; Jay-Ar Lagahit from UM Peñaplata and Maureen Roslinda from UM Digos sharing the 8th spot with 90.20; and EljunCuran from the main campus and Irish Lim sharing the 10th spot with a score of 89.90 percent.
For the secondary level, Jasmin Cabatingan and Gene Satinitigan shared the second spot with 92.60 percent rating, while Queenie Damalerio and El Philip Fred Magbanua shared the fourth spot with 91.80 percent.
Aljie Marie Canoy from UM Tagum, Richejoy Combinido, Ronnel Galvano, Chris Llido from UM Digos, and Jemimah Mae Tabay all placed sixth with 91.40 percent, while Cherry Ann Gordon from UM Tagum placed seventh with 91.20 percent.
Glenn Alumbro, Anne Marie Salapayne, and Dejie Mae Saumat shared the eighth spot with 91 percent; Princess Grace Calvo from UM Digos, ninth spot, with 90.80 percent; and Bryan Añober, Gracelle Bullanday, and Alberto SarteJr from UM Digos shared the 10th spot with a score 90.60 percent.
"UM has had similar feats with past LET topnotchers, with the City Council commending the students and the university for bringing prestige to Davao City. It is also worth noting that apart from UM, the majority of topnotchers in the LET for both elementary and secondary Levels come from schools in Mindanao," UM said in a statement.
The university garnered a 90.41 percent passing rate for first-time takers in the elementary level, compared to the 52.81 percent national passing rate, and a 82.80 percent passing rate versus the 58.25 national passing rate for first-time takers of the LET Secondary Level.
Aside from these top performing schools, other higher institutions in Davao Region in the elementary level also topped the exam.
Darvey Exzy Mae Carbon Abines from St. Thomas More School of Law & Business in Tagum city and Lyndon Jay Villaro Sulit of Cor Jesu College ranked third with 91.40 percent.
Also, Froilan Vincent Ona Jose Cross of Bansalan Junior College and Riza Dianne Rodriguez of Ateneo de Davao University ranked fourth with 91 percent.
Sharing the fifth spot are Mary Grace Ramada from Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology and Jose Prochina Rubua Jr. of University of the Immaculate Conception with 90.80 percent.
Jessah Mae Rival of John Paul II College of Davao with 90.40 percent emerged as the Top 7 passers.
Leneth Pearl Suganob Pingot and Mariel Abijay Sayson of Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology got the 8th spot with 90.20 percent.
For the Secondary Level, ranked third are Mhavil Albuera from Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology and Marevic Jean Lutog Holy Cross of Davao College with 92.20 percent rating.
Top 4 is Renel Lapitan Jugarap of Davao del Norte State College with 91.80, and Top 6 are Judiel Cabilan of Compostela Valley State College, Harababe Portarcos of Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology, and Feltrick Vench Aborde Remulta of Ateneo de Davao University with 91.40 percent.
Ranked eighth are Emy Rose Araiz from Holy Cross of Davao College, Aye Brant Bueno of Cor Jesu College (Holy Cross of Digos), Nelly Joy Bulonos of Southern Philippines Agri-Business Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (Spamast)-Mati City, Glenn Stephen Mahinay of Spamast, Jobell Villagonzalo of Spamast, and Ma. Conxedes Gudes of Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology.
In the Top 9 are Chris Edeth Ellera and Alyssa Mae Mabano of Davao del Norte State College.
Ranked 10th are Justine Abella of Holy Cross College of Calinan, Leah Ampong of Spamast, Nonie Auditor of University of the Immaculate Conception-Davao, Venes Calunsag of Ateneo de Davao University, Robert John Gelera of University of the Immaculate Conception-Davao, and Noel Rule of Davao del Norte State College with 90.60 percent rating.
A total of 136,523 graduates of Education-Secondary course took the licensure exam in 26 different testing centers nationwide.
The PRC said 28,973 elementary teachers and 54,179 high school teachers passed the licensure test, which was given last September 29.
