Davao flights cancelled due to typhoon

A TOTAL of 37 Davao flights have been cancelled Monday afternoon due to Typhoon Tisoy and the closure of all terminals of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

The NAIA temporarily suspended the operations of all terminals from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, in “preparation for the expected onslaught of Typhoon Tisoy.”

As of 9 p.m. Monday, December 2, the Philippine Airlines (PAL) cancelled 17 flights from Manila to Davao and vice versa.

Davao to Manila flights scheduled for Tuesday are PR 1812, PR 1828, PR 1830, PR 1810, PR 2808. For Manila to Davao, these are flights PR 1829 and PR 2825.

Manila to Davao to Manila round trip flights were also cancelled. These include PR 2813/2814, PR 2817/2818, PR 2823/2824, and PR 2819/2820. The airline also cancelled Manila to Davao flights scheduled for December 4, which are PR 1811 and PR 1809.

Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific has cancelled six Manila to Davao flights as of 2:30 p.m. Monday. These are 5J 951, 5J 973, 5J 961, 5J 977, 5J 971, and 5J 981 which were scheduled for Tuesday.

There were also five Davao to Manila flights cancelled which are 5J 952, 5J 974, 5J 962, 5J 978, and 5J 970, and two flights from Davao to Zamboanga and vice versa which are 5J 3174 and 5J 3175, respectively.

The number of cancelled flights for Air Asia remains the same as reported earlier. These are flights Z20613 (Manila to Davao), Z20614 (Davao to Manila), Z20615 (Manila to Davao), Z20616 (Davao to Manila), Z20625 (Manila to Davao), Z20612 (Davao to Manila), and Z20621 (Manila to Davao) which were scheduled for Tuesday.

As of 10 a.m. Monday, Air Asia flight Z20622 from Davao to Manila for December 4 was rescheduled. The passengers were advised to check the flight’s status on their website.

The airlines, however, said these are still subject to change depending on the typhoon situation. They encouraged passengers to check their advisories posted on their Facebook pages and websites from time to time for any changes.
