WITH competition mounting for meetings, events and convention venues in Cebu, Sacred Heart Center Inc. has enhanced its facilities to fulfill the new preferences of today’s market.

These amenities were unveiled on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019. This was the center’s first renovation since its establishment 43 years ago.

The newly renovated Sacred Heart Center now has seven function rooms that can accommodate from a minimum of 50 to a maximum of 950 persons.

It also improved its sports facilities—the swimming pool, basketball court and an indoor gym.

The center’s newest addition is Café Cristina, a coffee shop with two meeting rooms that can accommodate 15 to 20 persons each. Aside from its regular all-time-favorites, it now serves all-day breakfast, other meals, desserts and beverages.

“We renovated and expanded the Sacred Heart Center to adapt to the changing times,” said Cristina Lo, president of the Sacred Heart Parish Ladies Association Inc., that manages and operates the center’s facilities. “With the improved facilities, we hope to attract more guests and events, especially that the profit goes back to the community.”

Lo said the income generated from the center is used to fund the group’s social projects such as the daily feeding program for undernourished pupils of Zapatera Elementary School. The group also supports other social projects such as visiting of the sick, free catechism for non-sectarian schools, mass weddings, activities for the youth and projects that support the ministry of the Sacred Heart Parish.

Sacred Heart Center Inc. is owned by the Jesuit Sacred Heart Church and private stockholders who are mostly parishioners, as well as members of the Sacred Heart Parish Association Inc. and Sacred Heart Parish Ladies’ Association Inc. (KOC with PR)
