Honest taxi driver lauded

AN ACT of honesty was given recognition by the Baguio City Council.

In a commendation by the city council, Francisco Jeyson was recognized for his selfless act of returning lost items in his cab last month.

Jeyson is a driver of Gentle Breeze taxi in Baguio City who returned to the owners US $4,200 worth of pearls which his passenger left in the cab.

Jeyson’s passengers were Vietnamese Nationals who partnered with the committee on employment, livelihood, cooperatives and person with disabilities for the conduct of a livelihood seminar on jewelry and bonsai making.

“The heroism of Mr. Jeyson on his act of honesty – where his will defied greed, when his heart listened to the brain, when his sense of duty prevailed over a chance to have a property, when his integrity feel to compromise with money made with little effort – is worth emulating by all taxi drivers as well as the constituents of Baguio,” said the resolution by Arthur Allad-iw and adopted by the entire council.

The resolution added the good deed is worthy of praise and deserves commendation from the Officialdom of the City of Baguio.

The council likewise commends the anonymous passenger who informed Jeyson that there is an item left at the passenger’s seat and those who shared in the social media and media outlets the call for the return of the said item.
