Lending collector robbed

A COLLECTOR of a lending firm was robbed by unidentified assailant at Cameroli Street, Barangay 35, Bacolod City Tuesday morning, December 3.

Police identified the victim as Hazel Cabigonay, of Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said the victim, who was onboard a Honda motorcycle, was collecting money from their customer at Cameroli Street when an unidentified assailant suddenly rode on her back and declared a hold-up at about 11:20 a.m.

He said the suspect choked her and pointed a bladed weapon at her then grabbed her bag containing P60,000 in cash and fled.

Cabigonay told the police that the suspect was wearing gray shirt, black pants, fair complexion, and about 5’7” in height.

Pico said Police Station 1 is still conducting further investigation to determine the identity of the suspect.

Meanwhile, an estimated P35,000 worth of suspected “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 4 at Purok Star Apple 1, Barangay 27, Bacolod City yesterday afternoon.

The operation also led to the arrest of Rafael Parandas, of Bacolod City.

Pico said the suspect was arrested after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover at about 2:40 p.m.

Police recovered from Parandas’ possession five sachets of suspected shabu, and the P500 marked money.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 4 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
