VHAL Demape had himself one heck of a ballgame as he scored 50 points and capped off his scoring outburst with a triple-double in the Tech Xperts’ overwhelming 138-76 win over BBC in the Metro Cebu Basketball League at the City Sports Club-Cebu basketball court on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019.
Aside from hitting the half-century mark in scoring, Demape also had 12 rebounds, 14 assists and five steals in what could be considered the most impressive performance in the league so far.
However, Demape was not the only person to score 50 points in the MCBL last weekend. Melvin Paz also had 50 markers to go with five rebounds and five assists as Hanchoi destroyed NMAX, 132-90.
In other matches, Lite Shipping bested the Titans, 93-83, with Franco Te scoring 18; the Freeasia Knights toppled Multiple City, 108-79, as Kenneth Laurel shone with 27 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals; Re-Ignite Hope won over the Paneros, 108-89, with Eros Pilapil leading the way with 26 markers while Black Shama beat the Barracudas, 98-92, as Rommel Tariman came up with 20 points, seven boards and six assists.
The ST Club also came away as winners over MDC Realty, 100-80, with John Cabahug putting up 28 points; Air 22 soared over the Splash Bros, 109-76, thanks to Jimwel Nacilla’s 41 points; Scoregasm scored an 89-76 win over the Snipers with Moustapha Ali producing 30 points and 16 boards while Lite Ferry 88 won over Gulf War, 117-100, as Sanel Cabalda tallied 33 points, 10 rebounds and six steals.
The AMC Baca Boys also defeated TSO, 105-79, with Keno Labus leading the way with 26 points and 14 boards while the RECJC Pension Spartans cooked the Chef Lumpia, 101-95, with Aristotle Alcos putting up 21 points and five assists. AngelMary Pawnshop also powered past the Team Liquid, 89-76, with reigning MVP Rickymhar Berdin scoring 33 points while the Rongcales Customs Brokerage took down Sherilin, 107-93.
