'No foul play' in death of Grade 11 student

THE Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) did not find any sign of foul play in the death of an 18-year-old Grade 11 student who drowned in a river in Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City on Tuesday afternoon, December 3, 2019.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Clark Arriola, public information officer of CCPO, said an accident was what took the life of Christian Redoble, a student of Ramon Duterte National High School.

Based on the investigation of the Guadalupe Police Station, Redoble had gone swimming in the river with his three friends. They were about to go home at around 5:30 p.m. when he slipped and fell.

According to his friends, Redoble was carried away by strong current. His body was found an hour later.

Allegedly, Redoble and his companions were drinking alcohol before the incident transpired.

Police urged the parents of Redoble to have their son's body autopsied to conclusively determine the cause of his death. (AYB/RSR)
