Emano seeks authority to ink deal with Gingoog Bay Alliance

MISAMIS Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano has asked the Provincial Board to authorize him to enter into an agreement with Gingoog Bay Alliance (GBA) for the implementation of long- and short-term development projects within the Gingoog Bay area.

Emano made the request in a letter addressed to the Provincial Board late last month.

Emano said his administration has been supporting development projects which seek to preserve the country’s marine and coastal resources, as well as the upland ecosystem “in line with the concepts at sustainable development and people empowerment.”

“We are respectfully requesting the august body for the enactment of legislative measure authorizing the undersigned on behalf of the province of Misamis Oriental to enter into and sign the memorandum of agreement (MOA) supporting the Gingoog Bay Alliance to implement long and short term development projects within the Gingoog Bay Area,” Emano said in his letter.

The executive committee of GBA is composed of the first district representative, provincial governor, and town mayors of Magsaysay, Median, Talisayan, Balingoan and Gingoog City.

The capitol’s top official asked the board to consider the matter urgent and hopes the request will get an approval by the board members.

The board is set to tackle the governor’s request during the regular session on Monday, December 9.
