Guv orders evacuation of residents in danger zones

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Local government units heeded the call of Governor Dennis Pineda to implement preventive evacuation of families in various danger zones here during the onslaught of Typhoon Tisoy, which left 1,043 people in six evacuation centers.

Reports from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) said that some 260 families were evacuated on December 3, Tuesday.

The Municipal Government of Porac evacuated families in the highland villages of Villa Maria (101 families) and SapangUwak (82).

The said villages are prone to landslides during heavy rains. The evacuees were brought to the Jose Songco Lapid Covered Court.

In Arayat town, some families along the danger zones in Barangay San Juan Bano were moved to the Arayat Function Hall. Some families in Santa Ana, San Luis, Sasmuan, and Lubao were also evacuated to safer grounds.

The Provincial Government had delivered relief goods to six evacuation centers with an estimated total amount of P38,599 and a total of 100 packs of goods.

While there were 50 pieces of sleeping mattress delivered to Porac amounting to P13,500 and a total of 39 sets of hygiene kit amounting to a total of P24,336 were distributed to evacuees from Lubao.
