THE three female Cebu City Hall employees who claimed they were sexually harassed by former Kamputhaw barangay captain Lorenzo Basamot will file cases against him and Cebu City Councilor Prisca Niña Mabatid before the City Prosecutor’s Office within this week.

All three will jointly file a sexual harassment case against Basamot, now head of the Department of General Services’ records and archives management division.

Two of them will also file a case against Mabatid and Basamot for violating the Anti-Wiretapping Law. The third will also file a complaint against Mabatid for recording their phone conversation.

One of the victims challenged Mabatid to a lie detector test to determine who is lying among them.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, one of the three victims aired her side and shared how Basamot harassed her during the Oct. 5 incident.

The victim said the alleged sexual harassment happened after the tree-planting activity conducted by the City Government in Barangay Taptap, Cebu City. It was also her birthday and she said Basamot forced himself on her.

The same incident happened to the other two employees on separate occasions, the victims claimed. A week after the incident, the victim said Basamot talked to her. She did not elaborate on what they had talked about.

However, Basamot recorded their conversation without her knowledge. (JJL)
