Oro’s digital process in doing business to attract investors

CAGAYAN de Oro City Investments and Promotions officer Eileen San Juan Thursday morning, December 5, said they are now streamlining the process on cell sites construction application in the city.

According to San Juan, this is an innovation of the local government to attract more investors for a growing metropolitan.

“We strive so much in really putting forward our different offices and efforts in the different department in using technology,” San Juan said.

The City Investment and Promotions officer shared some of the things that occurred during last October’s Ease of Doing Business Forum in Manila.

“We shared our success in the electronic Building Permit Management System which we are now currently using and we are proud to say that we are the only one for now in the country having this kind of a system,” San Juan said.

The electronic Building Permit Management System or e-BPMS, developed by the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, is an automated and computerized system where applicants can easily apply without getting into long queues and tedious submission of requirements in the Office of the City Building Official.

They can also redeem their building permit sooner than before as the process are made easier and faster.
