WHILE most milk tea brands in Cebu stick to offering the classic milk tea with boba or different flavors like Matcha, Strawberry, Mango or Brown Sugar, other brands are stepping up their game by creating something innovative out of the trend: Soft-serve milk tea, milk tea float, cheesecake on a milk tea etc.

Well, the milk tea craze just got even crazier!

Now, one can get a little bit “zozzled” (a slang word in 1886 which means to be drunk) while drinking your favorite milk tea. Zozzle Tea will take your milk tea experience up a notch with its alcohol-infused milk tea. Dubbed “Giggle Teas,” Zozzle Tea puts a spin on its signature milk tea flavors made of Assam black tea and its very own muscovado syrup that will surely quench one’s thirst.

Start off with the best-selling Jack’s Dilemma, a rum infused chocolate milk tea, perfect for drinkers and non-drinkers alike. What does it taste like? Think chocolate-flavored milk tea; It’s deliciously chocolatey, luscious, and the sweetness is just enough—not too sweet—with a slight after-taste of burnt caramel and sweet, toasted sugar (which is actually the rum).

It’s milk tea with a surprising twist. Apparently, chocolate and rum go well together as both have similar origins in terms of geography and climate.

If one is a beer lover, then, Cervecha (beer-infused Zoozle signature milk tea) should be a perfect pick! It also has a whiskey-cola-infused milk tea called Churchill.

Ilsa’s Truth (gin-infused) is perfect for Wintermelon lovers. There’s also the Caribbean (signature milk tea + gin) and Casablanca (signature milk tea + gin). These booze-y milk teas won’t knock people out; Only pure Boba goodness with a bit of a buzz.

For non-alcoholic drinkers and minors, Zozzle Tea serves premium milk teas, fusion teas and specialty flavored teas as well. Each tea flavor is freshly brewed every day. And what makes its milk tea offerings perfect is that, Zozzle Tea uses non-dairy milk to accommodate those who have lactose intolerance but want to get their milk tea fix.

If one is not into milk tea, tea-based cocktails are also served. There’s the Bloody Cebuana, a mixture of vodka and grenadine; Summer of ’69, rum plus lime; Orange Lightning, a blend of gin and orange; Harlem Sunset, tequila and cranberry mixture; and Naked on the Beach, tequila with strawberry.

Take note, if one wants to try the booze-y milk tea series and tea-based cocktails, he or she needs to bring with him or her some ID because the store is adamant about checking one’s legal age.

Visit Zozzle Tea inside Owl’s Mart in Crossroads, Banilad. It is open every day from 11 a.m. to 12 midnight.
