Warehouse fire in Binugao causes P245,000 worth of damage

AN INDUSTRIAL fire broke out in a warehouse in Binugao, Toril, Davao City last Thursday, December 5, which incurred a total P245,000 damage to the structure.

Senior Fire Officer 2 Ramil Gillado, Investigation Section chief of Bureau of Fire Protection-Davao, said from January to present a total of 13 industrial fire incidents have happened across the city.

A fire was reported at 12 p.m., Thursday, involving Snapsnax Ventures Inc. and was put in control at 12:20 p.m. and declared fire out at 12:45 p.m.

Based on the investigation, the fire, which originated at the production area, was contained by the firefighters immediately thus it only reached first alarm status.

No casualties have been recorded while the investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of the incident.

Earlier, the BFP reported that from January to November 2019, a total of 439 fire incidents have been recorded in Davao City, with an estimated damage of P73 million and with five fatalities.
