WITH more than 19 years of experience in the industry, Alterations Plus opened its second branch in Cebu. The new branch, located at Streetscape in Banilad, Cebu City is its 28th store in the country. Its services include a wide range of professionally done garment alterations; cleaning or restoration of shoes, bags or belts; as well as made-to-order clothing and upholstery services. Future services at this branch would possibly include dry cleaning and home service alterations. Founder Maria Lucia “Lucille” Carlos is very pleased with the newest expansion.

All That Glitters presented a brand new holiday collection stemming from the creative ideas of cousins Amanda Luym and Cacay Moras-Server: a display of timeless pieces focusing on intricately designed local Philippine flora with the use of freshwater pearls. Amid this lustrous exhibit, indigenous orchids and other attractive rare species were also put on display by notable landscaper and purveyor of fine plants, Jaime Chua. To add to this creativity, Luym’s one print run photography which featured botanical subjects truly made the event one-of-a-kind!

Nominated to receive the prestigious award for the Most Influential Filipina in the World for the “Founder & Pioneer” category was Cebuana philanthropist Mariquita Salimbangon-Yeung. With an event held at The Westin Paris Vendôme in France, the Global Filipina Women’s Network (FWN) recognized 100 women of Philippine ancestry for their outstanding work, achievements and contributions to society.

The annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at the Radisson Blu Cebu went with the theme “A Classical Christmas At The Blu.” It featured a well-lit blue teal and silver Christmas tree together with festive music and lots of holiday cheer! Welcoming the crowd with a few opening words was Radisson Blu Cebu’s general manager Stephan Sieberg. Guests were entertained by a repertoire of classical symphonies and Broadway songs, performances by Bianca Camille Lopez and Ma. Rhina Paula Cruz of The Nightingales, accompanied by Cebu’s Celestial Voices Choir and the Cebu Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Nestor Jardin (SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. brand ambassador).
