Lazatin calls for unity in his administration

ANGELES CITY -- Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. has asked the barangay council to work with him for the development and betterment of the city.

"Eku pu mamulitika. Ala pung color-color kaku - red, green, blue, or white - ing kaku mu pu, our common goal - to work for the City and our constituents," he said during the Year-End Fellowship and Thanksgiving Night of barangay officials on December 6 at Ribeye Function Hall in Barangay Pulung Maragul here.

The mayor reiterated the essence of unity among the grassroots level, in order to utilize the programs of the City Government in terms of health, education, social welfare, among others, which is for the benefit of AngeleƱos.

"Kailangan tamu pung mag-obra. Kailangan tamu pung misanmetung. Ikit yu naman pu ing gewa tamu king mapilan a bulan at etamu pa pu yari," he added.

IC Calaguas, Mayor Lazatin's Chief Adviser and Tactician, said that it's been a long time since a gathering of all barangay officials has happened again.

She then shared a short story about 'commitment' which she stressed is the most important trait in public service.

"Sana po sa grupong ito, magkaroon din po tayo ng commitment para sa ikauunlad ng siyudad Angeles," she furthered.

Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting also cited the hard work of barangay personnel in assuring peace and order in their respective areas.

For his part, First District Rep. Carmelo 'Jon' Lazatin II stressed that this is the best chance to show how united the officials in Angeles City are.

"We are public servants. As public servants, gawin natin ang obligasyon natin para sa ikauunlad ng nagkakaisang Angeles," he said.

The holiday party was facilitated by Executive Asst. IV Reina Manuel, thru the Barangay Affairs and Public Assistance Center and Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (ACEDIPO), where raffle prizes such as cash and appliances were given to the barangay officials. (PR)
