DBTC routs foes in AboitzLand Cup

THE Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) made the Boys 12-Under and 14-Under divisions of the Aboitiz Cup a scoring party after scoring one-sided wins over the weekend.

In the 12-Under division, Joseph Roy Requiron had a first half hat- trick and eventually finished with 4 goals in DBTC-B’s 11-0 rout of Makoto Canduman.

Requiron got two goals in the 2nd and 4th minute, sandwiching Dejos Lourd Audi’s third-minute goal for a 3-0 lead just four minutes in. Edgar Paredes IV and Joshua Benedict Cui got the first of their two goals a minute apart in the 14th and 15th to make it 5-0, while Fritz Marco Amozana made it 8-0 in the 17th to put the outcome beyond doubt.

DBTC A also joined the shutout party with a 6-0 win over Sheba FC.

Jekee Lao opened in the scoring two minutes in, while Matthew Lambating doubled the lead in the fourth. Mark Talingting and Jayson Gerson added two more in the 14th and 23 minutes before Lambating and Hans Quirante completed the rout with goals in the 28th and 39th minutes, respectively.

On the other hand, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu leaned on the two goals of Rafael Colina in the 27th and 50th for their 3-1 win over Cebu Sherelin.

Jarred Almendras gave Ateneo the lead in the 8th before Sean Goc-Ong equalized in the 25th minute.

In the Boys 14 division, John Lexter Conde struck twice to lead DBTC A over KNF United FC, 6-0.

Christoipher Arao and Allister Manlosa opened the scoring in the 13th and 15th minutes, while Conde got his goals in the 24th and 40th for a 4-0 lead at the turn. In the second half, Mark Anthony Talingting and Lord Daniel Alovera banged in the final goals in the 51st and 57th minute to complete the shutout win.

In the other games, DBTC B beats Abellana National School, 3-1, while Cebu United fought back twice to beat Ateneo, 4-2. Zhedrick Johnson gave Ateneo the lead in the 10th but Louie Soco equalized eight minutes later.

Johnson struck again in the 34th to give Ateneo the lead, but it lasted for only two minutes as Soco got the equalizer. Javi Sian then took advantage of a sleepy Ateneo defense as he got the lead a minute in before scoring the insurance goal in the 60th. (ML)
