Salogaol loses to Ridhwan in Singapore

CEBUANO veteran Junny Salogaol lost to three-time Southeast Asian Games bronze medalist Muhamad Ridhwan via a fifth-round technical knockout at The Ring Boxing Community on Dec. 6, 2019.

Ridhwan immediately made his presence felt by landing some crisp combinations in the opening round.

Ridhwan continued to dominate in the second round, opening up a cut above Salogaol’s left eye, apparently from a punch.

Ridhwan steadied his pace and totally outgunned Salogaol, who occasionally landed a counter punch.

The 25-year-old Salogaol, a native of Borbon, lost his third straight contest and dropped to 14-18-5 with 13 knockouts.

Ridhwan, on the other hand, won his fourth straight contest since suffering his second straight defeat early this year. He improved to 15-2 with 11 knockouts. (EKA)
