'Christmas in our hats'

MEMBERS of the press in Misamis Oriental and Cagayan de Oro City spent their Saturday night with fun and festivities as the Provincial Information Office hosted its annual Media Stakeholder's Forum at the Chali Beach Resort, Cugman, in the city.

This year's Media Stakeholder's Forum, anchored on the theme: "Kagamhanan Kaabag sa Gawasnong Pagpadayag," was participated by media personalities in the province and city who wore their best hats.

In his message, Provincial Information Office head Carlo Dugaduga shared the importance of mainstream media and social media, especially with the recent incidents including the explosion in Initao College, the 'brain eater' in Talisayan and the man who burned himself to death at the Rotunda.

Dugaduga said that despite the convenience of social media in terms of timeliness, mainstream media remains important as it still the main reliable source of information.

Following the tasty dinner, the HipHop Dance Competition started with the performance of four groups, namely: Brigada News, RPN, RMN/DXCC and Magnum Radio.

With their energetic dance moves and equally enthusiastic dancers, the group of Brigada won as champion of the HipHop Dance Competition.

The top 3 male and female with the best hats were also announced, with all top 3 females and top 1 male coming from SunStar Cagayan de Oro.

Prizes, including 5 kilos of rice and home appliances, were also given to the lucky people who had their names called during the raffle draw.

The night ended with not just their stomachs full but with their heart filled with joy.

Apart from the members of the press, present during the Media Stakeholder's Forum were some of the members of the Provincial Board, such as Saysay Emano, Wayne Militante, Dexter Yasay, Boboy Sabal, among others.

Provincial Governor Yevgeny Emano, however, was not able to join the event as, according to Provincial Veterinarian Benjamin Resma, he was not feeling well.
