Rams, Eagles, Tigers move on to semis of Elite Basketball Cebu

The Rams, the Eagles and the Tigers all advanced to the semifinal round of the Elite Basketball Club Cebu Season 16 after they eliminated their respective foes in the quarterfinals at the Visayan Glass Gym last Sunday, December 8, 2019.

The Rams survived the Wolves in overtime, 83-80, thanks to the stellar performance of Toytoy Minoza who had 22 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.

The higher-seeded Rams encountered trouble as they faced a 43-49 deficit heading to the fourth. However, they got their groove back just in time to force the overtime session and eventually claim the win.

Jerome Soque and Harmsway Molina had 14 points each while Oliver Sanoy added 12 markers.

The Rams would next face off against the reigning champions Eagles, which dumped the Hawks, 96-64. JL Manila did it all for the Eagles as he piled up 15 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks.

Jarred Nacasabog led the team in scoring with 16, Ian Ortega also had 15 while Mark Ynoc finished with 14 markers.

Also moving on to the semis was the Tigers, which ousted the Sharks, 98-89. Marsun Tabay powered them to the victory with his 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocked shots. Christopher Obeso added 19, Nino Obeso finished with 17 while Juvan Tabay and Joirene Salcedo each had 15 to help give the Tigers the victory.

Up next for the Tigers would be the Raptors, which won via default over the Scorpions.
