A TOTAL of 111 graduated in the digital arts, visual graphic design and software development courses at the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC) on December 10.
Governor Eugenio Lacson reiterated that NOLITC is the impetus in reshaping the socio-economic landscape of the province, by equipping the youth with relevant education and training that are responsive to the needs of the growing IT-BPM industry.
The governor's message to the graduates was delivered by his Executive Assistant Charina Magallanes-Tan. Of the 111 graduates, 26 completed Digital Arts, 29 for Visual Graphic Design and 38 for software development level 1 and 18 for software development level 2. Joey Gurango, founder of Coders Guild, commended the SDTP graduates as they turned into employable professionals.
"When you can code, you don't only change your life but you can also change the world", he said.
He cited the importance of software programming in today's world, were everything is run by software. Tesda Representative Rebecca Jochico urged the graduates to share their success stories and to never give up in fulfilling their dreams. The graduates of digital arts and visual graphic design were pioneer scholars under Tesda's Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education.
Graduates of visual graphic design earned 100 percent passing rate in national certification exam.
The best in creative designers were Christian Ray Ramos, John Andre Grandiza and Emmanuel Toledo. Named as best animators were Concord Gamalando, Gemor Maypa and Kevin Benedict Veloso.
The best Python Project Team were Ronald Dogomeo and Rudy Cana. Cana was top scorer for JavaScript Level 2 Assessment, while Best JavaScript Game Developer top Scorer-Python Level 2 Assessment was Roy Duenas. For Level 1 HTML and CSS Assessment, the top scorer were EJ Von Taasan and Michael Bern Gasendo.
