Angeles village commended for barangay justice system

THE Lupon Tagapamayapa of Barangay Balibago in Angeles City was adjudged by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) as the best in terms of justice system.

It was named as the Central Luzon winner in the Lupon Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) for the highly urbanized city category.

DILG-Central Luzon Director Julie Daquioag commended the village officials for their "efforts in uplifting Katarungang Pambarangay as an effective means to ensure peace and order in the locality."

Barangay officials, led by Chairman Rodelio Mamac, received the awards at the Kingsborough International Convention Center in the City of San Fernando Wednesday, December 11.

Aside from the plaque of recognition, the village also received an incentive of P50,000.

Mamac thanked his fellow leaders and barangay workers for supporting various programs for the people, adding these are fruits of labor and that it is time to harvest.

"As a presiding officer of the Katarungan Pambarangay, I would like to congratulate all the members of the Lupong Tagapamayapa and Pangkat Tagapagkasundo for a job well done and makes not only Barangay Balibago proud but the entire Liga ng mga Barangay of Angeles City for being adjudged as the Regional LTIA winner for the highly urbanized category in Region 3," the village chief said.

He said the speedy administration of justice by providing all avenues to an amicable settlement considerably reduced dockets in courts of justice and saved more than P3 million of people's taxes.

"We humbly offer this award to all our constituents and to the Angelenos," Mamac said.
