Man drowns in Kabankalan

A 21-YEAR-OLD man was found dead in Barangay Camansi, Kabankalan City after he was believed to have drowned while crossing the river.

The victim was identified as Alex Albana of the same place.

Initial Investigation of the Kabankalan PNP disclosed that Reden Albaña, brother of the victim saw the lifeless body of the victim floating in the river on December 10.

According to the father of the victim that while his son was crossing the river, he failed to assess the depth of the river.

Meanwhile a man died of hacking in Barangay Telim, Calatrava.

The victim was identified as Julyten Esconde, 25 years old of Barangay Malanog of the same town while the suspect was identified as Samuel Villamor, 32 years old and a resident of Sitio Pagtagoan, Brgy. Telim.

Initial Investigation revealed that the victim and the suspect were in the compound of their landlord.

A heated argument reportedly happened between the victim and the suspect and suddenly the victim hacked the suspect several times using a sugarcane cutter. The suspect sustained wounds on his face, left waist and left leg prompting him to retaliate by also drawing a sugarcane cutter from his bag then hacked the victim on the neck that resulted to his death.

The suspect immediately exited from the crime scene and surrendered himself to authorities who brought him to the Calatrava District Hospital for medical treatment.
