Bacolod allocates P77M for employees’ bonus, road projects

THE Bacolod City Council approved the P77 million appropriation ordinance for the City Government employees’ bonus and the road network projects of Bacolod.

The ordinance was approved during their regular session yesterday.

Councilor Cindy Rojas, chairperson of the City Council committee on finance, said of P77 million, P48 million will be used for the employee’s bonus and the rest will be used for the road network projects in various barangays that were earlier affected of the demolition of the illegal structures.

The budget will be taken from several personnel services and maintenance and other operating expenses accounts under the general fund per certification issued by City Budget Officer Maria Imelda Williams.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia earlier said the regular employees, plantilla casual and co-terminus such as executive assistants and technical assistants, as well as elected city officials will receive P5,000 Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI) and P25,000 Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA), and P10,000 Service Recognition Incentive (SRI), which was earlier announced by President Rodrigo Duterte.

Under Administrative Order 19 signed by Duterte on December 2, the grant of SRI is in line with the implementation of Joint Resolution 4 inked on June 17, 2009, which allows the release of incentives as rewards for a government employee's loyalty and exceptional financial and operational performance.

Leonardia said the PEI and CNA should be released not earlier than December 15 while the SRI should be released not earlier than December 20.
