AFTER serving his 90-day suspension, Masantol Mayor Danilo Guintu reported back to office Thursday, December 12.

The Office of the Ombudsman meted Guintu an administrative suspension order on September 12, 2019 for grave misconduct and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of public service.

The suspension order stemmed from the complaint filed by incumbent Councilor Bernie Guevarra, former vice mayor Ralph Nulud and former councilor Chris Bondoc on October 11, 2017 against him for allegedly allowing the operation of a "tiangge" (flea market) during Saturdays, instead of its regular schedule on Thursdays.

On his return, Guintu vowed for strengthened and more inclusive public service for his constituents in the remaining days of his term.

"Tuluy-tuloy at mag paiigtingin pa ang serbisyo sa imprastraktura, kalusugan, edukasyon at basic social service upang masiguro na lahat ng sektor ay makikinabang sa programa ng gobyerno," he said.

Guintu, meanwhile, expressed gratitude to Masantoleños who continuously supported him throughout the setback in his administration.

"Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng suporta, nasa opisina man o wala. Asahan po ninyo ang mas magandang pangungubyerno sa darating na dalawa pang taon," he said.
