TWO drug personalities were arrested in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 5 at Purok Arao, Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City Wednesday evening, December 11.
Police identified the suspects as Plaridel Bayoneta, 35, of Barangay Vista Alegre, and Ricky Aresgado, 45, of Hacienda Bayabas, Cadiz City.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to a police undercover at about 6:15 p.m.
Police recovered from the suspects’ possession five sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P6,000, the P300 marked money, cellular phone, P200 cash, and drug paraphernalia.
Pico said the suspects were under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.
The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 5 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165.
Meanwhile, a 27-year-old man was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 7 at Purok Kabugwason, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City Wednesday afternoon.
Arrested was Benjamin Vivas, 48, of Barangay Mansilingan.
Pico said the suspect was arrested by virtue of arrest warrant for violation of Section 11 of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Therese Blanche Bolunia of Regional Trial Court Branch 47, Bacolod City with no bail recommended.
The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 7. (MAP)
