Cuenco: That wonderful holiday feeling

CHRISTMAS is about love and joy, and those festive feelings continue to be celebrated at Seda Hotel Ayala Center Cebu (Seda ACC). The hotel’s dedication to deliver “the best feelings in the world” especially during the holiday season commenced with a heartwarming Christmas tree lighting ceremony last month. Kindness and generosity were highlighted in the hotel’s partnership with Smile Train, a charity dedicated to cleft surgery and care especially to the less privileged. During the event, the organization was given the chance to share their story and how the advocacy has helped to change the lives of its beneficiaries. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed the party and admired the tree with beautiful music provided by the Fidelis choir. The tree was styled with Basil Cabaral and was inspired by sustainability, and incorporated eco-friendly materials like sinamay, jute, and capiz to create a neutral color scheme with different textures and lively pops of red.

In light of how Filipinos celebrate Christmas with well-loved traditions, Seda ACC’s culinary team prepared a special menu that will be available for the Christmas and dinner buffets in Misto, the hotel’s signature restaurant.

Friends from the corporate sector and the media were invited to a grand preview of these dishes at Feliz: a Holiday Journey, a fine dining event complete with tables elegantly styled by Cabaral, and a waiters’ parade for every delightful course. The Seda team headed by general manager, Gwen dela Cruz, partnered with the “Chocolate Queen” and founder of The Chocolate Chamber, Racquel Choa, and general manager of wine distributor Happy Living Philippines, Jullian Gagliardi to come up with the perfect pairings for these special recipes.

“Tonight is about challenging conventions; a little bit different, but not over the top,” said Seda ACC director of sales and marketing, Frances Alfafara, of Feliz.

The Christmas tree and the holiday menu feature all things familiar, but with that Seda flair of a contemporary touch that leaves behind the warmth of heartfelt Filipino service.
