Incentives await 16 SEA Games medalists

THE 16 Zamboangueño athletes who won medals in the 30th South East Asian Games (SEAG) will receive cash incentive from the city government.

Dr. Cecile Atilano, city sports division chief, said the grant of cash incentive to local athletes, who win medal in international competition like the recently concluded 30th SEAG, is in line with City Ordinance No. 267.

The cash incentives based on City Ordinance No. 267 are as follows: gold medal, P150,000; silver, P100,000; and, bronze medal, P75,000.

The 16 Zamboangueño athletes who excelled in their respective sports category are as follows: Hidilyn Diaz (55 kilogram (kg)-women category-weightlifting)-gold; Marry Flor Diaz (45-kg-women category weightlifting)-bronze; Margaret Colonia (59-kg-women division weightlifting)-silver; Nestor Colonia (67-kg-men’s division weightlifting)-bronze; Kristel Macrohon (71-kg-women division weightlifting)-gold; Clemente Tabugara Jr (Wushu Men's 65-kg-Sanda competition)-gold; Lloyd Dennis Araneta Catipon (Judo Kurash-73-kg)-bronze; Chezka Luy Centeno (10-Ball Women Single’s and doubles Women’s Billiard and Silver medal in the 9-Ball Women Singles)-2 gold medals; Ryan Jakiri (63.5-kg men Muaythai)-silver; Sharief Afif (Karatedo Men’s event)-bronze; Eumir Felix Marcial (middleweight 75-kgs boxing)-gold; Jhonny Morte (65-kg Freestyle Wrestling)-silver; Joseph Angana (70-kg Freestyle Wrestling)-silver; Margarito Angana (60-kg Greco Roman Wrestling)-silver; Jonash Ponce (Men’s Baseball)-gold; and, Noel Damian, Jr-(Men’s Tennis)-gold.
