MENROSE Dunay is starting to carve here name in the professional events industry. She was able to find an avenue channeling her talent and creativity to something profitable by making something extraodinary for her clients' events.

Unlike other millennials who are still in search of their life's purpose, Dunay, 25, considers her current profession as something she can do for the rest of her life. As an event organizer, they are constantly loaded with responsibilities in making sure that the events run smoothly from start to finish. Despite of this being the case, she always find fulfillment after pulling off a successful event.

Dunay, the owner of Menorosa Events Management Services, walked us through her journey. She shared that it all started when she previously worked as an events coordinator in one of the biggest malls here in Davao City. From there, she was exposed to the world of events and learned new skills. This was also the time she told herself that she wants to pursue events organizing.

“Masaya ako every time makita ko ang mga tao na masaya sila sa na-mount na event. I realized love ko pala ginagawa ko kasi masaya pa rin ako kahit pagod ako. Since extrovert ako, gusto ko laging may ginagawa, and dito ko nakita sa events yun,” she said.

Despite the setbacks and negative comments thrown at her, she rose and proved that she can make it in the industry.

“Pinapatulan ko mga super tight budget na events para lang may pang portfolio ako, tapos at the end of the day wala talaga akong matanggap na talent fee kasi hindi na kaya sa budget nila kaya minsan ako pa ang mag co-cover pero I was happy doing that, kasi dun ako nagiging determined and marami akong na learn,” she said.

Whenever they have bookings, she always makes sure that her team does not settle for an ordinary program flow but a quality production to make their clients feel that they are special.

“I was once a bride and a client and I know how it feels na gusto mo lahat maayos, lahat organized, maganda and extraordinary. Big deal sa akin ang mga ma feel ng client because I've been there. I know how it exactly feels,” she said.

People may see the grandiose result of the events but behind the scenes were the sacrifices they have to take to accomplish their desired output and give their clients the best experience. As a newbie in the industry, she still has a lot to learn in the business. She is praying that one day she’ll be able to achieve her endeavors in life. She always believes each has their own time to shine and at the right time God will make it happen.
