Peñalosa faces veteran Puton

DAVE Peñalosa looks to bounce back from his first career loss on Saturday night, Dec. 14, 2019, as one of the headliners in a boxing show co-promoted by Elorde International Productions, Gerrypens Promotions and Sanman Promotions at the Flash Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Center in Parañaque City.

The 28-year-old Peñalosa, the son of two-division world champion Dodie Boy Peñalosa, is up against battle-scarred veteran Vergel Puton in a 10-round fight.

Peñalosa is fresh from a unanimous decision defeat against Lerato Dlamini in a World Boxing Council (WBC) silver featherweight title fight on July 12 in Saudi Arabia.

After losing his first two fights in 2019 against Nikita Kuznetsov and Charly Suarez, Puton bounced back with a seventh-round technical knockout of Jules Victoriano.

Peñalosa is 15-1 with 11 knockouts, while Puton is 18-13-2 with nine knockouts. (EKA)
