P270,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P270,000 worth of “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug busts of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City from December 12 and 13.

The operations also led to the arrest of the three drug personalities identified as John Paul Diaz, 21, Larry Tulmo,, 21, both residents of Purok Sigay, Barangay 2; and Mariano Canoy Jr., 34, of Purok Masanag 1, Barangay 26.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Canoy was arrested by operatives of Police Station 4 after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover at Purok Masanag 1, Barangay 26 at about 2:30 a.m. Friday.

Police recovered from Canoy’s possession five sachets of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P30,000, the P500 marked money, coin purse, and P500 cash.

Pico said the suspect was identified as street level target in the area of Police Station 4 and was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

Diaz and Tulmo were arrested by operatives of Police Station 3 at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 at about 1:30 p.m Thursday.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession six sachets of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P240,000, the P500 marked money, and coin purse.

Pico said Diaz and Tulmo were also under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 3 and 4 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
