Christmas trees in Cebu (Part 1)

CHRISTMAS TREE trees are towering symbols of love, peace and joy. With this in mind, establishments in Cebu have readied their own Christmas trees in celebration of the season. Take a look at some of the notable Christmas trees in Metro Cebu:

SM Seaside City Cebu

SM Seaside City Cebu sparkled with dazzling lights of royal blue elements as it lit up its 55-feet tall peacock-inspired Christmas tree. The gigantic tree is decorated with numerous lights in fiber optic and neon flex forms; a picturesque worthy for people’s Instagram posts. The lighting of the tree follows a story of a little prince who embarked on a journey to search for the missing magical blue feather. MRC

Waterfront Airport Hotel & Casino

It’s one glistening holiday at Waterfront Airport Hotel & Casino Mactan with its massive Christmas tree clad in golden ornaments that greets guests as they enter the hotel. This year’s theme is “Golden Glare of Christmas” where the gold represents triumph, achievement and success. PPC

Seda Ayala Center Cebu

In partnership with non-profit organization (NGO) Smile Train Philippines, Seda Ayala Center Cebu has beautiful Christmas decor hung beside the Christmas tree in the lobby. Each one is available for purchase and proceeds will go to this NGO that helps kids with cleft lips and palates get corrective surgery. CBQ

bai Hotel

It was “A Glistening Christmas” at bai Hotel Cebu’s tree lighting ceremony this year. This year’s centerpiece is a white and silver confection, a frozen fantasy adorned with ice, snowflakes and crystals. Mr. and Mrs. Claus also graced the event to meet guests. CBQ

Montebello Villa Hotel

Cebu’s only garden hotel, Montebello Villa Hotel welcomed the Christmas season with the lighting of its Filipino-themed Christmas party decorated by its executive housekeeper. MMC

Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan

The 22-feet Christmas tree of Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan, although elegantly simple, highlights the relevance of sea creatures in its illuminated form as it’s inspired and designed by elements from the ocean such as seahorses and starfishes. PPC

BE Resort Mactan

Going green and blue this Yuletide season is BE Resort Mactan with its Christmas trees that are made of recycled and up-cycled materials like wood, plastic bottles and wine bottles. The color green symbolizes life and renewal and also represents the environment while blue represents sincerity. PPC

Maayo Hotel

Maayo Hotel’s 24-feet tree made use of local products as a way to show its mission to support local talents, thereby showing everything Cebuano from its culture to its uniqueness. MRL

Taft East Gate

Open to the public, Taft East Gate’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony was led by chief financial officer Felix Tiukinhoy, group treasurer Jennifer Musni, chairman and president Jack Gaisano, Margaret Gaisano-Ang, Justin Gaisano, vice president and deputy chief operating officer Myra Gilig and Jason Gaisano. SM City Consolacion

Everyone’s invited to take photos with friends and families at SM City Consolacion’s Christmasville, a Christmas village-inspired installation in celebration of the SM Mallidays. PR

Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort

Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort continues to evoke that Filipino spirit with its 15-feet tree decorated with parols in different colors; said to signify the Christmas spirit and the start of the holidays in the country. MRL

Quest Hotel and Conference Center Cebu

Quest Hotel and Conference Center Cebu unveiled its “Dazzling Days of Christmas” with its annual bell ringing ceremony. It’s also the second year of its Wishing Tree, a fundraising initiative for the PADS’ Prosthetics Project that aims to provide subsidized prosthetics to low-income families. To donate, purchase at least P1,000 worth of pastries or Seed Studio toys at the Hansel and Gretel Gingerbread House. CCP

Cebu Parklane International Hotel

Cebu Parklane International Hotel is actively preparing for the most wonderful time of the year, and started with a Christmas tree lighting of its 18 ft. Christmas tree made of recycled newspapers last Nov. 12. This year, the hotel’s theme “Christmas Chronicles: Ang Sugilanon sa Pasko” focuses on different corporate social responsibility and community-based activities including its “Buy a Gift, Be a Gift” for the benefit of Cancer Warriors Foundation Inc. - Cebu Chapter.
